Welcome to to the home page of the "Law Librarians in Virtual Worlds" workshop (April-Aug. 2008). This free AALL-BNA sponsored workshop, open to law librarians, law students and library students, will be held primarily in the virtual world of Second Life.

Office hours:
Coordinator Kate Fitz (SL: 'Cat Galileo') will hold "office hours/discussions" Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9 a.m. Pacific and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Pacific. Each discussion will focus on one of the units' topics as well as open questions and answers:
  • Unit 1: Saturday, April 19 (transcript) / Wednesday, April 23 (9:00 a.m. Pacific) / Thursday, April 24 (10:30a.m. Pacific)
  • Unit 2: Saturday, April 26 (transcript) (tour sites) (9:00 a.m. Pacific) / Wednesday, April 30 (9:00 a.m. Pacific) / Thursday, May 1 (10:30a.m. Pacific)
  • Unit 3: Saturday, May 3 (9:00 a.m. Pacific)/ Wednesday, May 7 (transcript) (9:00 a.m. Pacific)/ Thursday, May 8 (10:30 a.m. Pacific)
  • Unit 4: Saturday, May 10 (9:00 a.m. Pacific) / Wednesday, May 14 (9:00 a.m. Pacific)/ Thursday, May 15 (10:30 a.m. Pacific)
  • Saturday, May 17: No meeting
  • Unit 5: Wednesday, May 21 (9:00 a.m. Pacific)/ Thursday, May 22 (10:30 Pacific) / Saturday, May 24 (9:00 a.m. Pacific)


Repeated as needed.

The discussions are supplementary to the tutorials and activities and can be done before or after the rest of the unit. If you can't make either time, transcripts will be posted. Contact Kate if you would like to set up a time by appointment.
